We are now offering our 6 year old mare - DRR Clandestine Affair (Tine) - for sale. Tine is 15/16ths Arabian and 1/16 Pinto and is dual registered with both AHA and PHA so she can be shown in both circuits. She has incredible bloodlines on both sides of her lineage - her sire is TS Black Tie Affair and likely the most famous Arab Pinto stallion in the U.S. today. Her grand sire on the Arabian side is the legendary “Bahim Hisan” who was the Busch Beer commercial stallion and was winning halter championships well into his late 20’s. She has a full sister currently being trained by Tommy Garland and we may see that mare in the Arabian Nationals this year - all indicating that Tine has incredible potential for the show ring given all of her background. Tine has a beautiful 50/50 tobiano pattern, a gorgeous feminine Arabian head, nice conformation, no vices, fits well into any herd and is an extremely gentle people oriented horse. You are invited to watch her via the YouTube video link below.

We are reluctantly offering our purebred Friesian mare “Hilde” for sale. Hilde will be 7 years old in Feb 2009 and is dual registered with FPS and FHANA. We imported Hilde from the Netherlands as a weanling and it has been a delight to watch her mature into the beautiful, gentle, people oriented horse she is today. She has an excellent inbreeding coefficient to compliment her bloodlines all of which are important to the Friesian owner. She is currently in training with Dana Gardner and will likely be there for some six months or so. Dana is a renouned trainer, judge and breeder and we have had several other of our horses with her for finish work. Hilde would make an exceptional dressage, pleasure riding or carriage horse as just a few elements in which she would excel. A DVD demonstrating her current progress is available upon request.

The following very nice testimonial was recently received from one of our clients and we appreciate her kind words.
“Mr. Bell,
I really enjoy your books and videos. I have learned so much about making my rides safer and about how horses think in general. I want to share my experience with Bob Claymier with you. I have a five year old Arabian gelding that had enormous people problems perpetuated by my lack of enforcing any sort of discipline. He arrived from the breeder at age of three, scared of everything. Over the next years as I walked him on long walks he became more and more like a dog. He looked to me to protect him and it became harder for me to discipline him as not to upset him. I know this is very wrong and I have a very professional relationship with my Arabian mare, so I know better. My poor horse had issues that I could not deal with.
The worst problem was his inability to cross our creek. This creek is only 18″ wide at one point. The other horses would come to the barn and when they left, they needed to cross the creek. He would watch them disappear over the hill. He would never follow. For a year I would hear him whinny off and all day to them. Hearing this over the course of the day was a constant reminder of his loneliness. I tried getting him to cross the creek using kind, gentle methods and some that I’m not really proud of. Every horse person I knew had a theory of how it was to be done. Nothing worked. He ate his very small part of the pasture down to nothing. I wondered if he would starve rather than ever cross the creek with lush green grass on the other side. It was that bad.
I talked to my vet about my apprehension in sending him to someone that may not understand Arabians. My biggest fear was that my horse would not be handled with kindness. She suggested Bob Claymier. I called Bob and he seemed perfect for our needs. I sent him to Desert Rose Ranch and I now have a horse that is not only broke to ride, crosses creeks, leaves my space when asked, loads on the trailer, allows me to bathe him…..I could go on and on. When we had guests come to the farm recently, we walked out to a pasture to discuss a project we’re planning and the horses came over to greet us. As we walked away Abu Faaiz, my gelding, turned t, threw his head and trotted to the creek, crossed it and cantered up the hill. The others turned and followed. Not only did he cross the creek-he led. My eyes watered with happiness. Bob Claymier has given me something money can not buy. Merry Christmas and thanks again for all you guys do for us and our horses. Sincerely, Barbara Bruce”

DRR Bocephus (Bo) performed in his first dressage test with his new owner Caroline York on 16 November 2008. We are so proud to see Bo progressing in his training and couldn’t be more pleased that he has found a wonderful home with Caroline. Our goal regarding all of the foals that we have raised is to see them placed with loving owners who will develop their potential to the fullest extent possible and Bo is certainly fitting in to that category. We wish both Bo and Caroline much future success and will follow their endeavors with pride.

Our good friends Fran & Joe Dragone assisted us in picking our first official vineyard crop. It was an arduous task taking several hours and we greatly appreciate their efforts. We then took the grapes to Rappahannock Vineyards for processing and enjoyed a well deserved lunch and rest while watching the grapes being pressed. Fran & Joe have even volunteered to come back again next year where we hope to have a larger crop and a “few” more pickers involved.

DRR Calys (Callie) is a very feminine beautiful filly who has incredible bloodlines on both sides which gives an indication of her capabilities. Her dam is a pure bred Arabian and her sire a 7/8th’s Arabian Pinto which makes her 15/16’s Arabian and 1/16 Pinto. She is dual registered with the Arabian and Pinto Horse Associations which allows her to be shown in both circuits. Her sire is the incredible “TS Black Tie Affair” who is a 22 time Pinto World and Reserve World Champion in all events and Pinto Open Supreme Champion with 30 ROM and ROE awards plus 3800+ show points. Her grand sire is the legendary black straight Egyptian Al Khamsa stallion “Bahim Hisan” who was chosen as the Busch beer representative stallion and was winning halter championships well into his late 20’s. Her full sister “DRR Formal Affair” recently won a grand championship in H/A Sport Horse Mares in Hand plus is showing incredible reining potential which indicates the versatility of her lineage. Callie has developed into a very gentle trail horse suitable for the inexperienced rider but also has the looks, conformation and willingness to be an outstanding show horse should a new owner wish to take her in that direction. She is currently 14.2h with a history that her siblings continue to mature and grow at least through age six. She has three full sisters who are 50/50 pattern black & white Tobiano Arabian Pinto’s which indicates she has the ability to throw color if bred for that purpose. If bred to a purebred Arabian, her off spring would be eligible to registered as a Pintabian.
