Comments from the new owner of Dutch
Monday, May 19th, 2008It is always nice to hear back from satisfied owners who purchase our horses, and we recently received the following comments from Christy Rogers who purchased Dutch last year and moved him to Colorado.
“I meant to mention…Aside from Dutch’s elegance, he truly has an amazing personality. He is easier to work with than many well-trained horses that I ride. He has never jumped or flinched at all when he went through so much with his hind leg injury. You can work with his feet, touch him all over, do just about anything to him and he is just happy to be there. He’s great to clip, bathe, trailer, stand for the farrier, lunge, etc. I had him cross-tied a few weeks ago and got the clippers out to trim his bridle path. As soon as he heard the clippers, he lowered his head down to my waist level and stood there for me. I asked my trainer, “Did you work with him to learn that?”, and she said no. apparently he picked it up on his own. He knows I cannot reach if he is upright. I guess that’s a silly story but it seems pretty amazing to me. I work with seasoned show horses all of the time and quite a few of them are hot and aren’t always the most cooperative, even though they know the routine. I think that Dutch will be pretty easy to train, based on his attitude and willingness, plus he seems to have a great mind. He’s just such a great all-around horse! As far as I’m concerned, he will never be for sale”.
Thanks to  Christy for her kind comments about Dutch and we look forward to hearing progress about his future training.
